Big feelings...

two legs and four

Dogs and Sprogs is a conversational podcast hosted by Sarah, a SEMH practitioner working in education, and Chrissy Blake, founder of Muttley Crew Dog Training & Behaviour and a canine behaviour practitioner currently studying at Level 6 Clinical Animal Behaviour.

Why a podcast...

The podcast emerged through an unexpected meeting. Sarah’s 0-100mph dog, Ziggy, and a series of conversations that kept circling the same themes: safety, regulation, boundaries, and responsibility.

From classrooms to family homes, from trauma-informed practice to ethical, force-free dog behaviour work, the parallels were too consistent to ignore.

Chrissy...

Chrissy brings extensive experience supporting dogs with complex behavioural needs, including reactivity, separation anxiety, trauma, and therapy and assistance dog preparation. Her work is grounded in kind, ethical, welfare-led practice and supported by formal qualifications, specialist training, and professional membership with the National Institute for Canine Ethics (NICE).

Sarah...

Sarah brings a trauma-informed educational lens, working with children and young people with SEMH, ASC, and ADHD profiles, where behaviour is understood as communication and regulation is prioritised before expectation.

Ziggy...

Ziggy brings her own version of energy and love to the room...once she has zoomed around and caused chaos.

Together, we explore where these worlds align, and where they must remain distinct, always centring dignity, safety, and ethical boundaries.

The conversations are reflective and informed, with space for humour, honesty, and an understanding that good practice requires both compassion and containment.
